I'm wondering how many of us listen to what the judge said about the images put into the competition and then either forget it or just file it away mentally but do not see if that suggestion would make a real difference to their work. So I thought I would give it a try.
At our Mono PDI Competition 2 on 3rd February, Gerald, our judge, made a suggestion about my image of All Saints Church in Carshalton. He also said that he had not seen it presented in such a style, with the trees bared of their leaves making the structure of the church far more visible.
This is the image I entered:
Gerald felt that he was missing the impact of the church building itself, as it is too dark. Perhaps make it stand out by making it lighter?
So, second attempt:
What do you think?
Me? I feel Gerald was right and the brighter church does give this image more "punch" and those other words that are always used for mono.
Just a little idea that I thought I'd share.
